Located 5km from JR’s Obihiro station, and 50 minutes away from Obihiro Airport, Otofuke is extremely convenient and its population continues to grow. Otofuke River, Shihoro River, Shikaribetsu River, 3 large rivers feed the productive land, which in turn gives man abundant blessings. The “moor onsen” has been designated as Hokkaido Heritage, and has been called the “beauty onsen” because your skin becomes so smooth.

Otofuke town is almost a flat plain except for the east hill zone. In addition, it is blessed with geographical and climate conditions well suited for agricultural management, such as fertile soil enriched by good water use, and long hours of sunlight. This town agriculture takes advantage of these blessed conditions, and approx. 670 farmers take the lead in developing large scale land use agriculture utilizing large agricultural machines, centering on vegetables, rice, dairy farming, and beef cattle, with wheat, beans, sugar beet, and potatoes as staple crops, in vast agricultural land of approx. 23,300ha. As a result, it has played an important role as a major food supply base, and occupying large production share in each crop list in Japan.
